GDANSK

Arrived in Gdansk late Saturday afternoon … where its windy and a lot cooler ….. settled in, and explored the old quarters (every European city has its old centre), and it is quite quaint … with lots of character.
For all you history buffs out there, Gdansk (or Danzig as the Germans refer to it), was where world War II began … as the Germans invaded Poland in 1939, to claim it as their territory, which it had been in past years…… It is important to note that most cities in Europe have been subject to different countries over past centuries, depending on which had most power at the time.
