PARIS AT NIGHT

WEEKEND IN PARIS

We decided to get away to Paris for the weekend .. its only 3 hours by the high speed Eurostar train, and quite a relaxing trip… of course once we got there it was straight to the Eiffel Tower, which was surrounded by a fog. Paris is a lot colder than London, and gloves, scarves and beanies are definitely a pre-requisite.
We spent the days wondering around the city, and the attractions were interrupted by many stopovers at the cafes (for hot chocolates and coffees).
Of course, one has to go to the Louvre and appreciate the beauty of the Mona Lisa and Venus de Milo.

CHRISTMAS DAY IN LONDON

Its amazing how an international city like London completely shuts down over Xmas Day … no buses running, no tube, and almost all shops and restaurants closed ….. the city felt completely deserted .. and for a while it seemed that our Christmas dinner was going to be a couple of Snickers bars, and a Ribena drink …. Fortunately we found a nice little Morroccan style restaurant, where we settled down over a bottle of wine.

AROUND LONDON

After 7 weeks in USA, London feels more like a weekend holiday, than a place which is now my home… but I guess that’s not such a bad thing…. All the streets are lit up with Xmas decorations, with thousands of people scurrying around to complete the last minute shopping.

WHILE THE CAT’S AWAY….. (by Pamela!!)

With Danny being away I have kept myself extremely busy with many DLA Piper associated drinking activities including the DLA Xmas Party! Pics include real estate colleagues Suzanne, Emma, Lysia, Jodie (ex Adelaide) and new boss, Duncan.

Early December, for a weekend getaway, I took a mini bus tour to Cornwall. Despite traveling on my own I enjoyed miles of sandy beaches, turquoise waters, dramatic coastlines and pretty fishing towns.
